\Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). DDJL came out in 1995. It also stars my favorite couple Shahrukh Khan (the current King of Bollywood) and Kajol. It’s the greatest love story ever. It’s such a classic; it’s still running in theaters (in some small towns). It’s about Simran (Kajol) and Raj (King Khan) meeting on a train on a trip through Europe. Simran is just there to have fun before her parents marry her off to her father’s friend’s son. Raj is a rich playboy just out to chill before he has to start working for his father. When they meet Simran is turned off by Raj’s flirty attitude. When they both miss the train at the next stop, Raj promises to take Simran to the next train stop on their Europe tour. They fall in love. Simran moves to India when she gets back. Raj follows. Raj finds a way to win her back in front of her father. They just plan to elope at the end. Her father finds out and Simran’s fiancé and his friends nearly beat the living daylights out of Raj at the train station. Simran is allowed to be with Raj at the end. Raj finally wins his bride.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (“Something Happened”) (KKHH): Same Couple (King Khan x Kajol). Rahul (Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) were the best of friends in college. They practically ruled the school together. One day, Tina (Rani Mukherjee) came to their school and befriended both of them. Rahul fell in love with Tina which was bad for Anjali since she was secretly in love with Rahul. Rahul never realized this till it was too late. Anjali went to live with her aunt and was never heard from ever again. Raj married Tina and had a little girl who they named Anjali. Tina felt bad about getting inbetween the two friends so through letters she sends her little daughter to do some matchmaking. Anjali Jr. brings her father and Anjali Sr. together and they fall in love all over again.
